India targeted and damaged Neelum-Jhelum hydropower project in AJK

Indian forces launched an intense attack on the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project in Noseri, Azad Kashmir, early Wednesday morning, causing significant damage to critical infrastructure.

According to security sources, the shelling began at approximately 2:00 am, targeting the intake structure of the Noseri Dam on the Neelum River. The Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) confirmed the attack during a press conference later that morning.

The assault severely damaged the intake gates of the de-sander unit and struck key components of the hydraulic system’s protection unit. Additionally, an ambulance stationed for emergency services in the area sustained damage during the attack.

Efforts to assess the full extent of the damage and its impact on the project’s operations are currently underway.
