Narcotics worth Rs18 billion seized in Balochistan as the Customs Enforcement Wing of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) foiled a major drug smuggling attempt on Saturday.

According to officials, a truck coming from Taftan and heading towards Quetta was intercepted by a team of FEU Noshki. “Upon detailed inspection, a modified fuel tank was found containing concealed boxes filled with narcotics substances,” the Enforcement Wing said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

At least 300 kilograms of crystal meth (methamphetamine) were recovered from the vehicle. Two individuals, residents of Hoshab in Kech district, were arrested at the scene. “An FIR has been registered and further investigation is underway,” the FBR confirmed.

“The 300 kg of Crystal/Ice (Methamphetamine) and the smuggling vehicle have been seized — both valuing at approximately Rs18.67 billion,” the enforcement wing said.

Earlier this week, the Pakistan Navy ship Yarmook seized narcotics worth over $972 million from sailboats in the Arabian Sea. The ship operates under the Combined Maritime Force (CMF), a multinational naval partnership that includes the United States.
