NAB exposes major land scam in Balochistan

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan has uncovered a large-scale land scam involving the illegal occupation of 11,000 acres of government land valued at billions of rupees. The bureau has submitted a request to the Quetta Accountability Court to freeze the fraudulent land transfers.

According to a NAB spokesperson, the investigation revealed a coordinated effort between senior Board of Revenue officials, influential land mafias, and certain political figures to transfer state land to frontmen. The scam reportedly involved record tampering, forged allotments, manipulation of official orders, and unlawful land transfers to proxies that concealed the identities of the actual beneficiaries.

NAB is focusing its probe on areas in Karak, Sam Khail, Tala Haiderzai, Chashma Achozai, and Hub’s Mawali Shumali region, where land prices are particularly high due to their prime locations. Officials stated that several bureaucrats and political figures are expected to be summoned for questioning in the days ahead.

Labeling this case as one of Pakistan’s largest financial scandals, NAB highlighted that the scale of corruption extends beyond Balochistan. The bureau is firmly committed to holding the perpetrators accountable and recovering these national assets from illegal possession.
