DSP Muhammad Yousuf Reki found martyred after being missing in Mastung.”

A Balochistan police officer found dead in Mastung has been identified as DSP Muhammad Yousaf Reki, who had gone missing days earlier while traveling from Noshki to Quetta.

According to officials, the Balochistan police officer was tortured before being shot at close range. His body, bearing multiple bullet wounds, was discovered in Killi Sharbat Khan and shifted to Mastung District Hospital for a postmortem examination.

Police teams have collected shell casings, blood samples, and other forensic evidence from the scene. A high-level investigation has been launched into the killing.

Sources said DSP Reki went missing late Saturday night. Before his disappearance, he reportedly called his wife, saying armed men had stopped him. Moments later, his phone was switched off.

Initial reports suggest the officer was traveling alone without security and chose a mountainous shortcut route instead of the main highway. His vehicle is still missing.

Senior police officials described Reki as a dedicated officer who worked tirelessly to curb crime and maintain order in Noshki. His death has been called a great loss for the Balochistan Police.

The killing comes amid growing security concerns in the province. Last month, another Balochistan police officer was abducted near Surab but later rescued. Officials say banned militant outfits remain active in parts of Mastung and central Balochistan.

In a separate incident, nine labourers were abducted from the Siyah Pesh area of Dasht by armed men. Levies officials said one of the abductees was later released, while search efforts for the others are ongoing.

Banned outfits the Baloch Liberation army and BLF are active in this belt, found in abducting and other criminal offenses.
