On March 29, 2025, a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device near the BNP-M sit-in protest led by Sardar Akhtar Mengal at Lak Pass in Mastung.
Reportedly, the attacker attempted to approach the stage but was identified as suspicious by Sardar Akhtar Mengal’s personal guards. They intercepted him and moved him away from the protest site, where he subsequently detonated himself.
As a result, no loss of life has been reported so far, and all participants of the sit-in remained safe except two people who ran after the attacker were injured in the blast, but other sit-in participants and Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal remained safe.
