An army major was among three security personnel martyred in Balochistan’s Mastung district in an attack carried out by Indian backed terrorists, while four terrorists were killed by security forces.
According to ISPR, on the night between August 5 and 6, terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Hindustan targeted a security forces’ vehicle with an improvised explosive device (IED).

The martyrs were identified by ISPR as Major Muhammad Rizwan Tahir, 31, from Narowal district; Naik Ibni Amin, 37, from Swabi district; and Lance Naik Muhammad Younas, 33, from Karak district. They made the ultimate sacrifice and embraced shahadat, the ISPR stated, adding that Major Rizwan was a brave officer known for his leadership and participation in numerous counterterrorism missions.
Following the attack, security forces launched a sanitization operation in the area, killing four terrorists backed by India. ISPR emphasized that the operation will continue to eliminate any other terrorists present, underlining the armed forces’ determination to eradicate Indian-sponsored terrorism. “Such sacrifices of our brave men further strengthen our resolve,” the statement affirmed.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack and praised the on-ground swift response of the troops in eliminating four militants linked to Fitna al-Hindustan. He offered prayers for the fallen soldiers and extended his heartfelt sympathies to their families, remarking that their loss is one shared by the entire nation. He described the soldiers of Pakistan as an unshakable wall of defense, whose unmatched sacrifices in combating terrorism serve as a testament to their unwavering courage. The PM reiterated the state’s resolve to completely eradicate terrorism and affirmed the nation’s support for its martyrs and defenders.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also condemned the attack, honoring the martyred soldiers for their sacrifice and describing it as a profound example of duty and devotion to the homeland.
