In a tragic incident that underscores the persistent insecurity in Balochistan’s tribal belt, a man and his two sons were shot dead inside their home in the Lasezai area of Kohlu district, levies officials confirmed the inicdent.
The victims, identified as Bhagia Usman Marri and his sons, Khan Muhammad Marri and Muhammad Wali, were reportedly asleep when unidentified armed men stormed their residence and opened fire with automatic weapons.
“All three victims died on the spot after sustaining multiple bullet injuries,” Resaldar Major Sher Muhammad Marri of the Levies said. He arrived at the crime scene along with Assistant Commissioner Kohlu Kabir Mazari shortly after the incident.
The bodies were shifted to the District Hospital Kohlu for medico-legal formalities before being handed over to the family.
While no group or individual has claimed responsibility for the killings, officials suspect armed banned militants behind the targeted attack. However, an official investigation is under way to determine the exact cause and identify those responsible.
Law enforcement agencies have launched a search operation in the area to trace the attackers.
