Balochistan Govt to launch counter-terrorism wing in levies force.

The Balochistan government is establishing a dedicated counter-terrorism wing within the Balochistan Levies Force to tackle terrorism-related challenges more effectively across the province, Director General Abdul Ghaffar Magsi announced on Monday.

This Special Counter-Terrorism Wing is designed to bolster the Levies Force’s ability to combat terrorism by enhancing collaboration with other security forces and agencies during counter-terrorism operations. Mr. Magsi highlighted that the initiative aims to empower the Levies Force, improve operational readiness, and ensure stronger coordination among security agencies.

The new wing will play a key role in dismantling terrorist networks and strengthening Balochistan’s overall security. Personnel in the wing will undergo specialized training to combat terrorist activities and will be equipped with advanced weapons and tools to improve their effectiveness.

The decision to form this wing comes in response to recent incidents where Levies Force personnel were unable to resist attacks at checkpoints and stations, resulting in their weapons being seized by militants. Following these incidents, the DG Levies prioritized the creation of this wing to improve response capabilities and prevent such occurrences in the future.

Mr. Magsi reaffirmed his commitment to utilizing all available resources to ensure peace and security for the people of Balochistan.
