Four people were killed and one injured in a series of attacks across Balochistan on Thursday, including a Levies official and a tribal elder, according to local authorities.
In Quetta, attackers on motorcycles threw a grenade at an Eagle Squad patrol in the Killi Zareen area on the city’s outskirts. While the grenade missed its intended target and the patrol officers were unharmed, two motorcyclists passing through the area were caught in the blast. One was killed instantly, while the other was injured. The deceased was identified as Ghulam Farooq, who died from multiple injuries. Both victims were taken to Civil Hospital.
In a separate incident in Kalat district’s Johan area, armed men on motorcycles shot and killed Levies official Bhlo Khan Lehri as he was traveling home. He died at the scene, and his body was released to his family following legal procedures.
Also in Kalat district, the body of tribal elder Khizar Hayat was discovered in the Askalko Gundan area. Initial investigations suggest he had been kidnapped from his home by unidentified gunmen several days earlier.
Police also found another body in the Chashma Achozai area near Quetta, which was taken to Civil Hospital for examination.
In addition to the fatal attacks, there was an unsuccessful grenade attack near Balochistan University, where assailants targeted a police vehicle. The grenade failed to detonate, and the bomb disposal unit safely defused it.
