The Balochistan government has established a five-member committee to oversee the merger of Levies with the police in three divisions of the province.
A notification on the matter states that the committee will be chaired by the special secretary of the Balochistan home department and will include deputy commissioners, SSPs, and wing commanders of the Frontier Constabulary.

This committee will manage the integration of Levies with the police department across 13 districts in Makran, Rakhshan, and Zhob divisions. It is tasked with transferring all Levies assets to the police by July 10, 2025, and presenting updates to Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and the Corps Commander by July 15, 2025.
Additionally, Acting Norwegian Ambassador in Pakistan, Thomas Smedshaug Dahl, met with Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Thursday in Quetta. Their discussions focused on mutual interests, particularly welfare initiatives within the province.
Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that restoring peace and combating extremism in Balochistan remain top priorities, noting the government’s commitment to implementing effective measures to end lawlessness in the region.
