A suicide attack targeted a police mobile near the Katokhel checkpost in Tejowri, Lakki Marwat, resulting in the martyrdom of one police officer and injuries to five others, including an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI).
According to the police, the attack occurred near the Katokhel checkpost in Tehsil Tejowri, Lakki Marwat, when a suicide bomber targeted a police mobile. One officer was martyred, while five others, including an ASI (Assistant Sub-Inspector), were injured.
Police officials said that the injured personnel were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Lakki Marwat. Under the leadership of DPO Nazir Khan, the police launched a search operation in the area.
Firing by Unknown Armed Men in Bannu
Meanwhile, in the Bannu Cantt area, a police officer was martyred in firing by unidentified armed men. Locals protested by blocking the main road in Miran Shah.
The terrorists opened fire on the Miran Shah road, killing Constable Muhammad Tariq. Upon receiving the information, a large contingent of police reached the scene and began a search operation in the area.
Locals blocked the road to traffic as a form of protest. The martyred officer was on duty at the RPO (Regional Police Office) Bannu and was returning from his home to the office when he was targeted by the terrorists.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif Condemns Terrorist Attack
Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif condemned the terrorist attack near the police mobile in Lakki Marwat, offered prayers for the martyr, and extended condolences to the bereaved family. He also directed that immediate medical assistance be provided to the injured.
The Prime Minister prayed for the speedy recovery of the wounded and stated that the malicious designs of terrorists would be thwarted. He emphasized that the government is determined to completely eliminate terrorists, who are enemies of the lives and property of innocent and unarmed citizens.
