At least 20 suspects, including a tribal leader, have been apprehended in connection with the killing of a man and a woman in Balochistan. The incident, described as an “honor killing,” came to light after a video of the murders went viral on social media. The case has been transferred to the Serious Crimes Investigation Wing (SCIW), according to authorities.
SP Syed Saboor Agha stated, “The arrests include a tribal leader who allegedly ordered the execution. All suspects will be presented before a judicial magistrate today.”

The disturbing video depicts the victims being forced out of vehicles and into a desert where they were shot. Identified in the FIR as Bano Bibi and Ihsanullah, the victims were reportedly sentenced to death by a tribal leader for their alleged involvement in an “immoral relationship” (locally termed as ‘Karo Kari’). The execution was filmed and shared on social media, allegedly to instill fear within the community.
The FIR, filed by SHO Naveed Akhtar of Hanna-Urak Police Station in Quetta, lists eight identified suspects and 15 unidentified accomplices. The charges include murder, rioting, and terrorism under relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code and the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
Investigations have revealed that the crime took place three days before Eidul Azha in Dagari, near Quetta. The video first reached the police through social media. Following directives from Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, immediate action was taken, leading to the apprehension of one suspect and the subsequent investigation.
This act of brutality has drawn widespread condemnation from politicians, civil society activists, and the general public, who have labeled the killings as “barbaric” and demanded swift justice.
