According to officials, the Khuzdar Zehri operation was initiated after intelligence reports confirmed a concentration of BLA terrorists in the mountainous terrain. Zehri, with its rugged routes and remote access points, has long been exploited by terrorist groups to evade security surveillance.
“Terrorists of the BLA had been planning attacks to disrupt peace and intimidate local communities,” a security official said. “The operation not only eliminated their threat but also destroyed their infrastructure.”
Heavy Casualties for BLA Terrorists
During the exchange, BLA terrorists attempted hostile actions targeting civilians. Security forces responded decisively, killing 14 terrorists on the spot while injuring over 20. Multiple bunkers and safehouses used for planning operations were also demolished.
Security observers say the losses will significantly weaken the BLA’s operational capacity in southern Balochistan, where the group has attempted to reassert its presence.
Local Residents Rally Behind Security Forces
The Khuzdar Zehri operation also won strong backing from local residents, who came out in support of the Pakistan Army after the crackdown. Villagers raised pro-forces slogans and expressed relief over the elimination of BLA terroristswho had long threatened the area’s fragile peace.

Khuzdar, the second-largest city of Balochistan, holds immense strategic value. Its rugged corridors connect central and southern Balochistan to Sindh, making it a critical transit zone often exploited by terrorists. In a statement issued after the action, security officials pledged to continue targeting terrorist networks in the province.
