Security forces killed nine terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in the Jangian area of Kharan, Balochistan, after receiving information that terrorists belonging to Fitna Al-Hindustan were planning to establish a roadblock along a main highway, according to security officials.

The intelligence was received on September 6, 2026, following which security forces moved swiftly to prevent the planned activity and surrounded the terrorists in the area.

An exchange of fire followed, resulting in the killing of nine terrorists. Security forces are continuing search and clearance operations in the area, while efforts to track down any fleeing terrorists are also underway.

According to the security forces , the terrorists were preparing to establish a checkpoint near Jangian along a major highway. Such activity could have posed a direct threat to civilian movement and security personnel travelling through the area.

Security forces responded after receiving the intelligence and launched a timely operation to prevent the terrorist from carrying out their planned activity.

The operation in Jangian remains ongoing, with security forces conducting searches across the surrounding area. The pursuit of terrorists who may have escaped during the engagement is also continuing.

The latest action comes amid continued counter-terrorism operations in Balochistan targeting terrorists networks and their attempts to disrupt security, civilian movement and economic activity in the province.

The operation forms part of the broader counter-terrorism effort of Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, under which security forces and law-enforcement agencies are pursuing terrorists networks across the country.

The campaign reflects the state’s continued focus on intelligence-based operations, rapid response and sustained clearance activities to prevent terrorist groups from establishing operational footholds.

The Kharan operation also underscores the importance of intelligence-led counter-terrorism measures in Balochistan, where security forces continue to target terrorists attempting to disrupt peace and normal life.

Security forces remain engaged in the pursuit of terrorist elements, with clearance and sanitisation operations continuing to consolidate security in the area
