Suicide bombing targets security forces vehicle in Kalat, Balochistan

A suicide bombing occurred near a security forces vehicle on the national highway in Kalat district, Balochistan, resulting in the death of one security personnel and leaving four others injured.

The injured soldiers have been identified as Sepoy Waqeel, Zahid, Abbas, and Mushtaq.

The Deputy Commissioner of Kalat confirmed the incident, stating that medical assistance was provided to the injured after they were transported to a hospital. The attack took place while a convoy of security forces was passing through the area near Madoway.

Initial reports indicate that the suicide bomber was a woman, highlighting a concerning trend in militant tactics.

The banned militant organization Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has increasingly resorted to using women in suicide attacks.

Reports suggest these women are coerced through threats and blackmail to carry out terrorist activities. Security sources indicate that groups like the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) exploit vulnerable women. They force them into these dangerous roles. This marks a disturbing evolution in the landscape of militant violence.

Yesterday in another incident in Khuzdar district, BLA’s gunmen opened fire on a vehicle, resulting in the deaths of two leaders from the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) party, Ghulam Sarwar and Maulana Amanullah.

They were attacked while returning from Surab, and two others were also injured in the incident.
