Security Forces have neutralised 12 militants in a major Kalat operation in Balochistan, after launching an intelligence-based action in the Hassan Lalo area.
Security Forces have intensified counter-terrorism actions in Balochistan, conducting back-to-back operations in Kalat and Dera Bugti that resulted in the killing of several militants linked with recent attacks in the province, according to security officials.
In the Hassan Lalo area of Kalat, Security Forces launched an intelligence-based operation on 5 and 6 December after weeks of surveillance and confirmation of militant presence. Troops established ambush positions and engaged militants attempting to escape, leading to an intense exchange of fire. Officials said 12 militants were neutralised, and the area has since been cleared.

Meanwhile, in a separate operation in Dera Bugti, Security Forces killed five terrorists allegedly receiving external support, Pakistan’s military media wing (ISPR) stated. The operation triggered a heavy exchange of gunfire and resulted in the recovery of weapons, ammunition and explosive material from the slain militants.
According to ISPR, the militants were involved in multiple attacks and subversive activities in the region. A clearance operation was conducted after the raid to eliminate any remaining threats.
ISPR further added that under Operation Azm-e-Istahkam, Security Forces remain fully committed to eradicating terrorism and maintaining stability in the country, and counter-terrorism actions will continue with full momentum.
Earlier, in two separate operations conducted in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Security Forces killed nine militants linked with extremist outfits, according to the military.
