Armed men sets fire to multiple govt buildings in Kalat

BLA armed men blocked the Quetta-Karachi Highway in the Mongochar area of Kalat district on Friday night and set fire to multiple government buildings in the Mongochar bazaar.

According to sources, BLA obstructed the national highway, stopping vehicles, including passenger buses and private cars, and halting traffic along the route. They entered the Mongochar bazaar and took control of key government offices, including those of Nadra, the Judicial Complex, and the National Bank of Pakistan. These buildings were subsequently set fire, resulting in significant damage.

A significant security operation took place abruptly, as authorities aimed to neutralize anti-state elements. According to reports, five terrorists were killed and several others surrounded. Security personnel have begun taking control of key government buildings to restore order and ensure public safety.

The Deputy Commissioner of Kalat confirmed that an attempted attack by anti-state elements has been successfully thwarted. “Terrorists will not be allowed to succeed under any circumstances,” the statement read, emphasizing the government’s commitment to maintaining peace in the region.

The ongoing clearance operation is being carried out with full force, and the authorities are confident of restoring stability in the area soon.
