Nawabzada Gohram Bugti, leader of the Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) and grandson of late Baloch figure Nawab Akbar Bugti, has been detained for 30 days under orders from the Deputy Commissioner of Dera Bugti. Authorities enforced this arrest under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO3).
A police team apprehended Gohram Bugti from Bugti House in Dera Bugti without any resistance. According to SSP Dera Bugti, he will remain in jail for the duration of the 30-day detention period.
This development occurred after Gohram Bugti announced plans to initiate a long march against the Balochistan government. Following the arrest, JWP leader Shahzain Bugti addressed the media, stating his intent to challenge the detention in court and consult with his lawyers before determining the party’s next steps.
