Tribal leaders in Jhal Magsi pledge unity, peace and cooperation with security forces during a grand jirga meeting.

A grand tribal jirga led by Nawabzada Mir Nader Khan Magsi was held in Jhal Magsi amid growing security concerns and terrorist activity in the district, where local tribes announced their resolve to resist outlawed armed groups and safeguard peace in the region.

The jirga was attended by tribal elders, local leaders and Member of the Balochistan Assembly Mir Zareen Khan Magsi. Participants discussed the deteriorating security situation and agreed on a collective strategy to protect residents, development projects and public infrastructure from militant threats.

Addressing the gathering, Nawabzada Mir Nader Khan Magsi said the people of Jhal Magsi would not be left alone in the face of security challenges. He announced that local tribes would stand united to prevent the entry of militant elements into the area and support efforts aimed at maintaining law and order.

The jirga resolved to adopt a coordinated community-based security framework to ensure lasting peace, protect lives and property, and curb the influence of terrorist networks operating in and around the district.

Speaking on the floor of Balochistan Assembly, MPA Nawabzada Mir Muhammad Zarain Khan Magsi said local communities were defending their land, people and property, describing it as their collective responsibility. He later shared a video message on social media platform X, where he was seen alongside armed tribesmen.

In his statement, Mir Zareen Khan Magsi said:

“The soil of Jhal Magsi is not merely a piece of land; it is a sacred legacy entrusted to us by our forefathers and the identity of generations to come. For its peace and the protection of our people, we will always stand resolute and steadfast.”

Local tribes reiterated their commitment to standing against terrorism and supporting peace efforts in the district. Community representatives said attacks targeting workers, transport vehicles, roads, bridges and development schemes exposed the anti-public nature of militant violence.

On 15 September 2026, Fitna al Hindustan terrorists attacked Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi’s private rest house in Nurani, Jhal Magsi. The attack was foiled by local tribes, police, and security forces, with three terrorists killed and several others injured. Their associates fled carrying the dead and wounded.

The Magsi tribe also expressed its determination to work alongside local police and security forces to preserve stability and promote development in the region.

According to local sources, tribesmen resisted an alleged attempt to target a checkpoint on the road leading to Jhal Magsi Dam on October 2. Following reports of the incident, Nawabzada Jafar Khan Magsi reached the area and assisted in strengthening security arrangements at the checkpoint.

No civilian casualties were reported during the incident.
