Jhal Magsi, Balochistan — A major terrorist attack on Kotra Police Station in Jhal Magsi, Balochistan was successfully foiled early Monday morning after a prolonged and intense exchange of fire between security forces and militants.

According to officials, heavily armed militants affiliated with the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) launched the attack at around 5:30 AM. The attackers were equipped with rocket launchers, under-barrel grenade launchers (UBGLs), machine guns, and submachine guns, in what appeared to be a coordinated attempt to overrun the police station.

Reinforcements Arrive, Forces Hold Ground

Despite the scale and intensity of the assault, police personnel and Anti-Terrorism Force (ATF) officials stationed at the facility mounted a strong and immediate response, preventing the attackers from breaching the compound.

Senior law enforcement officials, including the Superintendent of Police (SP) Jhal Magsi, ATF officers, SDPO, SHO City, and personnel from Frontier Corps (FC) 151 Wing, rushed to the site as reinforcements. Their arrival strengthened the defense as security forces continued to engage the militants.

The gun battle lasted nearly three hours, with security personnel holding their positions under sustained fire. Officials particularly praised the Station House Officers (SHOs) of Kotra and Gandhawa police stations for their leadership and bravery during the operation.

Three police personnel were injured in the line of duty:

  • SI/SHO Mir Hassan
  • Head Constable Muhammad Iqbal
  • Constable Nisar Ahmed

Terrorist Losses and Local Resistance

Security sources confirmed that one attacker was killed during the operation, while two others were injured. The remaining militants fled the scene under pressure from security forces.

A notable aspect of the incident was the support extended by local residents and tribal members in Jhal Magsi, Balochistan, who stood alongside the police and security forces. Their presence underscored growing local resistance against militant groups operating in the region.

Situation Under Control

Authorities have confirmed that the situation is now under control, and a search operation is underway to track down fleeing militants. Security has been heightened across Jhal Magsi and surrounding areas to prevent any further incidents.
