Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has said that railway travel in Balochistan has been made safe, reliable, and confidence-building due to sustained government efforts and enhanced security arrangements.
During a visit to Quetta, the minister reviewed the security situation of the Jaffar Express, where he inspected newly introduced measures aimed at protecting passengers. He described the technology-equipped BKC coach as an effective and modern step to further strengthen onboard security.
Hanif Abbasi said that railway tracks across sensitive areas are now under 24-hour monitoring, while modern surveillance cameras have been installed to ensure continuous oversight. He added that the availability of adequate and trained security staff on board trains has also been ensured.
The railways minister praised the professional and coordinated efforts of the Pakistan Army and FC Balochistan North, stating that their effective security deployment has played a key role in restoring public confidence in rail travel throughout the province.
“The Jaffar Express has now been made secure, trustworthy, and satisfactory for passengers,” Hanif Abbasi said, emphasizing that the protection of passengers’ lives and property remains a top priority for the government and security forces.
He further noted that modern security initiatives taken jointly by Pakistan Railways and law-enforcement agencies are not only improving safety but also promoting better travel facilities in Balochistan.
