Recently, an Israeli-affiliated think tank, MEMRI (Middle East Media Research Institute), has launched a so-called “Balochistan Studies Project.” This is not an objective research initiative, but rather a front for a coordinated and hostile campaign against Pakistan, spearheaded jointly by India and Israel.
The launch of the “Balochistan Studies Project” by the Israeli-affiliated Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) is a targeted effort to destabilize Pakistan. This initiative, far from being a genuine academic project, is a calculated campaign by India and Israel to spread disinformation, stoke ethnic tensions, and undermine Pakistan’s sovereignty.
At the center of this effort is “Meer Yaar Baloch,” an online persona allegedly created and controlled by Indian intelligence. This fabricated identity is being used to propagate anti-Pakistan narratives, disguised as discussions on human rights and academic research. By using MEMRI as a platform, this campaign gives the illusion of legitimacy while pushing an agenda aimed at dividing Pakistan.
India’s interference in Balochistan is not new. Indian intelligence agency, RAW, is supporting separatist groups like the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). These interferences have been reinforced by evidence, including the confession of captured Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, who admitted to supporting anti-Pakistan activities in Balochistan. Now, with the facade of this so-called research project, India appears to have found a new way to continue its destabilization efforts under the cover of academic credibility.
Israel’s Involvement: A Clear Indicator of Hostility
Pakistan’s Parliament has already declared Israel a terrorist state due to its well-documented war crimes in Palestine. In this context, any Israeli-affiliated organization operating in matters related to Pakistan cannot be seen as neutral or well-intentioned. MEMRI’s involvement makes clear that this is not about scholarship—it’s about spreading disinformation to weaken Pakistan.
The “Balochistan Studies Project” uses the language of “research” and “human rights” as a façade for its true purpose: spreading disinformation and promoting separatist ideologies. It selectively highlights the voices of radical and foreign-funded elements while ignoring the real progress in Balochistan. Development projects, increased political inclusion, and the overwhelming desire of the local population for peace and stability are conveniently overlooked in favor of a fabricated narrative.
The India-Israel Nexus: A Shared Agenda Against Pakistan
The collaboration between India and Israel reflects a shared agenda to weaken Pakistan strategically. Both nations have a history of using similar tactics in their own regions—India in Kashmir and Israel in Palestine. Their partnership in this case is driven by mutual goals: to fuel ethnic divisions, destabilize Pakistan internally, and derail critical national projects like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which holds immense economic and geopolitical significance for Pakistan.
The “Balochistan Studies Project” uses terms like “research” and “human rights” as a cover for its real purpose: spreading false narratives and promoting separatist ideologies. It amplifies the voices of a few radical actors while ignoring the significant progress being made in Balochistan. Development initiatives, increased political representation, and the overwhelming desire of the local population for peace and prosperity are deliberately sidelined in favor of a distorted picture designed to serve foreign agendas.
Pakistan is fully aware of these campaigns and remains committed to defending its sovereignty and national unity. Efforts are underway to expose these agendas on international platforms, ensuring that the global community recognizes the disinformation being spread by India and Israel. Pakistan’s leadership has made it clear that such attempts to destabilize the country will not succeed.
The people of Balochistan are well aware of the external forces trying to manipulate their narrative. They have consistently rejected foreign interference and remain steadfast in their support for Pakistan. Their unity, resilience, and commitment to peace and progress are the strongest counter to any external attempts to divide them.
It is crucial for the international community to take note of these coordinated efforts to destabilize Pakistan. Using academic platforms as a cover for political manipulation is a dangerous precedent that threatens not only Pakistan but also the principles of sovereignty and fairness in global relations. By exposing and condemning such actions, the world can help ensure stability and respect among nations.
