The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt. General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has confirmed the successful completion of the Clearance Operation following the hijacking of the Jaffar Express in Balochistan. Lt. General Chaudhry told a private TV channel that the operation eliminated all 33 terrorists involved in the attack.
He explained that the location of the incident was remote and challenging to access due to its distance from civilization and lack of developed road networks. Despite these obstacles, personnel from the Army, Air Force, Frontier Corps, and Special Services Group (SSG) participated in the operation and successfully recovered the hostages.

Tragically, before the clearance operation commenced, the terrorists killed 21 hostages. Additionally, four heroic soldiers from the security forces sacrificed their lives during the intense standoff, ensuring the safety of others and preventing further loss of life.
The terrorists, some wearing explosive vests, created a perilous scenario by positioning themselves near women and children among the hostages. This tactic was intended to deter action by the security personnel. Despite this, the forces proceeded with extreme caution, ensuring the safety of as many hostages as possible. Medical teams have transported 37 injured individuals for assistance.
Lt. General Chaudhry highlighted that this operation represents a significant milestone in Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to ensuring national security and holding perpetrators accountable. Intelligence reports confirm that terrorist leaders operating from Afghanistan orchestrated the attack and communicated with the attackers throughout the incident. Pakistan has called on Afghanistan’s interim government to fulfill its responsibilities in denying its territory for such terrorist activities against its neighbor.
One of the rescued passengers expressed deep gratitude to the security forces, commending their bravery and dedication to safely resolving the crisis.
Pakistan’s security forces continually sacrifice to fight terrorism and safeguard the nation.
