In an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera, Pakistan’s Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, accused India of orchestrating a systematic campaign of state-sponsored terrorism aimed at destabilizing Pakistan, particularly in the restive regions of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The DG ISPR provided detailed evidences, naming specific individuals, operations, and evidence linking India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) to terrorism in Balochistan and KP.
DG ISPR said that India has adopted terrorism as a deliberate state policy to undermine Pakistan’s stability. He pointed to a series of attacks, including a devastating bombing in Waziristan that martyred 16 Pakistani soldiers, as being directly linked to Indian support. According to the DG ISPR, since January 2024, Pakistan has recorded 5,436 terrorist incidents sponsored by India, with security forces neutralizing 1,987 terrorists in response.
“India’s malicious intentions are a deliberate conspiracy to destabilize Pakistan, especially in Balochistan,” he stated, describing the campaign as a continuation of India’s historical interference in Pakistan’s affairs.
Citing historical precedent, LT Gen Chaudhry referenced India’s support for the Mukti Bahini during the 1971 East Pakistan conflict, which led to the creation of Bangladesh. He said that India’s current strategy mirrors this approach, using proxy groups to sow chaos. The term “Fitna al-Hindustan” was introduced to describe terrorists allegedly backed by India, with a particular focus on their activities in Balochistan
The DG ISPR named specific individuals and groups involved in India’s alleged terror network. He identified Ashok Kumar Anand as a key RAW handler coordinating subversive activities in Pakistan. Additionally, he labeled India’s National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, as the “chief architect” behind both domestic terrorism in Pakistan and transnational targeted killings.
LT General Ahmed Sharif said that Doval’s network has been responsible for funding and orchestrating attacks through groups like the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), referred Fitna al-hindustan as and the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), referred to as “Fitna al-Khawarij.”
The interview highlighted the BLA’s alignment with Indian interests. General Chaudhry pointed to a May 11, 2025, press release by the BLA, which stated,
“We assure India that if they move to eliminate Pakistan, the BLA will support them.”
He also noted that BLA spokesperson Bahot Baloch appeared on Indian media channels, claiming responsibility for attacks in Khuzdar, the Jaffar Express train hijacking, and other incidents. The DG ISPR further said that India has exploited vulnerable populations, including Baloch womenthrough operatives like Sarfraz Bangalzai, surrendered and reveled all facts in a presser.
The DG ISPR referenced the Jaffar Express attack in March 2025, where BLA terrorists took over 400 passengers’ hostage, and the Khuzdar school bus bombing in May 2025, which killed eight children, as examples of India’s “choreographed campaign” of terrorism. How Indian media celebrated these attacks.
General Chaudhry also claimed that Malik Faredun, a key figure in these operations, is currently receiving medical treatment in India, underscoring the depth of Indian involvement. Additionally, he pointed out Mufti Noor Wali, a leader of the TTP, of receiving guidance and support from the Indian state to orchestrate attacks against Pakistan.
The DG ISPR asserted that India’s state-sponsored terrorism has drawn international attention, with countries like the United States and Canada acknowledging India’s involvement in terrorist activities on their soil. He cited these nations’ concerns as evidence of India’s growing threat to regional and global stability. “The issue of Indian-sponsored assassinations and terrorism is transnational,” General Chaudhry said, pointing to incidents in Canada and the US.
General Chaudhry reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to countering terrorism and defending its sovereignty. He emphasized that Pakistan’s nuclear program remains “secure and invincible,” dismissing any threats to its nuclear capabilities. “No one can dare to target our nuclear programme,” he declared.
