The Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, held a press conference in Islamabad alongside Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed, the Director General Public Relations (DG PR) of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), and Rear Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz, Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff Operations.
During the conference,DG ISPR addressed how the Indian media accused Pakistan of involvement in the April 22 Pahalgam attack without presenting any evidence. He noted this was consistent with past behavior by India.
“Is this the first time India is doing this? There is a history to it,” he remarked.
He raised questions about how the Indian government could conclude Pakistan’s involvement within just 10 minutes of the attack and suggested such accusations were baseless. He explained, “When you don’t have any evidence, what do you do? You open up the military front.”
Lt Gen Ahmed Chaudhry said that India is blaming Pakistan to deflect attention from its internal issues, and targeting civilians, including women and children, during attacks.
The DG ISPR said that India is being actively involved in transnational terrorism and targeted killings, not only in Pakistan but also in countries like Canada and the United States.
Referencing tensions between India and these nations over the past year, the DG ISPR highlighted incidents that have escalated these frictions.
According to the DG ISPR, terror camps operating within India are actively fueling terrorism in Pakistan. He backed this claim by showcasing video confessions from previously apprehended militants, who admitted to receiving support and guidance from Indian operatives.
DG ISPR further said that India is engaged in consistently supporting acts of terrorism in Pakistan. He added that surrendered terrorist leaders have frequently disclosed details about India’s involvement in these activities.
