Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Kech district on Friday, eliminating two militants involved in various terrorist activities, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Based on reports about terrorist presence in the Blueda area, security personnel engaged the targets, leading to intense gunfire. Both militants were neutralized during the operation.
The ISPR disclosed that these individuals had been actively involved in several attacks against law enforcement agencies and civilians. A sanitization operation is currently underway to ensure all threats are cleared from the area.
The military reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace in Balochistan, emphasizing, “The security forces of Pakistan, alongside the nation, remain resolute in countering any efforts to destabilize the region.”
Meanwhile, a Corps Commanders’ Conference on Friday reaffirmed efforts to thwart attempts by foreign-sponsored entities and internal elements aimed at disrupting stability in Balochistan.
According to the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), militant violence and security operations in March 2025 marked a significant escalation, with 105 militant attacks reported. These incidents resulted in 228 fatalities (including civilians, militants, and security personnel) and 258 injuries, highlighting the continued need for vigilance and robust counter-terrorism measures.
