Iran Air to launch direct flights from Quetta to Zahidan and Mashhad

Iran Air is set to launch direct weekly passenger and cargo flights from Quetta to the Iranian cities of Zahidan and Mashhad, announced Iran’s Acting Consul General in Quetta, Ali Reza Rajai.

The announcement was made during a ceremony hosted by the Pak-Iran Joint Chamber of Commerce. The new flight service is aimed at boosting trade, cutting down travel time and costs for businesspeople, and enhancing connectivity between Pakistan and Iran.

Rajai highlighted that the initiative would not only promote stronger economic and travel ties but also pave the way for improved port-to-port cooperation between Pakistan’s Gwadar Port and Iran’s Chabahar Port.

Iran Air Chief Agha Karimi and Deputy Chief Agha Ismail were also in attendance at the event. Rajai urged both countries to address bureaucratic hurdles affecting trade, including simplifying visa procedures and reducing travel expenses, to fully capitalize on the new air link.
