At least 30 terrorists were killed as security forces successfully foiled an infiltration attempt from Afghanistan, according to a statement released on Friday by the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The operation took place over the nights of July 1–2 and 2–3 in the Hassan Khel area near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. A large group of terrorists, identified as Khawarij and associated with the Indian-sponsored proxy group Fitna al Khawarij, was detected attempting to breach the border. Security forces acted swiftly, engaging the group and effectively thwarting their infiltration plans.
During the operation, a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered. The ISPR further revealed that the group was involved in multiple terrorist acts, targeting both civilians and law enforcement personnel.
The ISPR highlighted the role of external sponsorship, calling on the Interim Afghan Government to prevent the use of Afghan territory by foreign proxies to launch terrorist activities against Pakistan. It reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to defending its borders and eradicating terrorism, underscoring the “resolute and unwavering” dedication of its security forces.
