Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir visited Ziarat on an official tour to review the law and order situation and interact with police personnel.
On arrival, the IG Police was received by DIG Sibi Division Barkat Hussain Khoso, District Police Officer Ayaz Khan, and other senior officers. A police contingent presented a guard of honor as part of the official reception.
During the visit, IG Police Muhammad Tahir held a formal interaction with police officers and personnel, during which he listened to their professional concerns and operational challenges. He assured the force that legitimate issues related to service matters and welfare would be addressed on a priority basis.
The District Police Officer Ziarat provided a detailed briefing on the overall security environment, policing arrangements, and measures in place to maintain public order in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the IG Police emphasized that public cooperation remains critical in countering the activities of anti-state elements and terrorists. He reiterated the commitment of Balochistan Police to strengthening peace and stability across the province.
“Balochistan will be made a cradle of peace,” Muhammad Tahir said, adding that the primary responsibility of the police department is the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
He further stated that Balochistan Police is working in close coordination with other security and law-enforcement agencies to ensure effective security management and sustained law and order.
Earlier in October, the Balochistan IGP police welfare package announced by Inspector General Muhammad Tahir includes major financial reforms for police personnel and the families of martyrs, with compensation and benefits nearly doubled from previous levels.
Under the new welfare package, families of martyred police personnel (Shuhada) will receive Rs200,000 as immediate assistance, up from Rs100,000. Serving police employees will be entitled to Rs50,000 for their own marriages, while Rs200,000 will be granted for the marriage of daughters of martyred or deceased officers.
