
Inspector General Frontier Corps (IG FC) Balochistan North, Major General Muhammad Atif Mujtaba, visited several public and commercial areas in Quetta on Thursday, engaging directly with citizens and listening to their concerns.
During the visit, Major General Mujtaba mingled with local traders, shopkeepers, labourers, and shoppers, who expressed delight at seeing a senior military official among them. Many people took selfies and photos with the IG FC, reflecting the warm public response.
The IG FC assured residents that their concerns would be addressed on a priority basis with the support of the district administration. He also interacted with business owners and community members to discuss issues related to security, traffic management, sanitation, and other local matters.
Major General Mujtaba toured key locations including Mission Road, Meezan Chowk, Kandahari Bazaar, Liaquat Bazaar, Manan Chowk, Inscomb Road, and Zarghoon Road, conducting an on-ground assessment of public spaces and commercial activity. He walked through the markets like an ordinary citizen, stopping frequently to speak directly with shopkeepers and customers.
Local traders praised the initiative, calling it an encouraging sign of improved communication between the public and security forces. One shopkeeper said, “We never imagined the IG FC would visit the market himself and listen to us directly.” Workers and business owners also appreciated the gesture, saying the visit would further strengthen public trust in security institutions.
The atmosphere during the visit remained lively as people, from children to elders, approached the IG FC for photographs, describing the moment as memorable.
A young resident remarked, “These pictures will become part of our memories.”
Major General Mujtaba listened to citizens’ concerns attentively and instructed district officials to resolve the highlighted issues on an urgent basis. He reiterated that FC Balochistan North is committed to public welfare and security, adding that such visits would continue to ensure stronger engagement between state institutions and the community.
The visit is being seen as a significant step toward improving public confidence and enhancing law-and-order efforts in Balochistan. The local administration also welcomed the IG FC’s initiative and assured complete cooperation.
