IG FC Balochistan North Major General Muhammad Atif Mujtaba meets Transporters Association Balochistan representatives to discuss transport sector concerns.

Inspector General Frontier Corps Balochistan (North), Major General Muhammad Atif Mujtaba, has assured the Transporters Association Balochistan of full cooperation in addressing the legitimate concerns and challenges faced by the transport sector across the province.
A delegation of the Transporters Association called on Major General Muhammad Atif Mujtaba and briefed him on a range of issues affecting transporters, including matters related to the smooth functioning of transport services in Balochistan. The delegation also shared its concerns and sought support in resolving challenges confronting the sector.

During the meeting, the IG FC Balochistan (North) listened to the delegation’s views in detail and provided comprehensive responses to the issues raised. He assured the representatives that their genuine concerns would be addressed through effective coordination and cooperation with the relevant authorities.

Major General Muhammad Atif Mujtaba emphasized that all possible measures would be taken to facilitate the resolution of legitimate issues faced by transporters and to ensure timely and effective coordination among the concerned departments.
The meeting comes amid growing concerns within the transport and business communities following a series of attacks on cargo vehicles and commercial transport routes in Balochistan.

According to reports, attacks claimed by the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) have disrupted trade activities across the province, with more than 35 cargo vehicles reportedly set on fire during the past month. Business leaders, transporters, importers, exporters, mine owners, traders and farmers have called for measures to ensure the safety of transport routes and the uninterrupted movement of goods.

On May 26, terrorists attacked cargo vehicles on the Mastung Bypass along the Quetta-Karachi and Quetta-Taftan highways, stopping and setting fire to four cargo containers carrying traders’ goods and expensive equipment.

In a separate incident on the same day, terrorists targeted between 20 and 30 commercial cargo containers in the Batoo area of Nushki on the Quetta-Taftan RCD Highway (N-40). The attack reportedly caused significant financial losses and disrupted trade along one of Pakistan’s key transit corridors.

The delegation thanked the IG FC Balochistan (North) for giving them a patient hearing and for assuring his full support and cooperation in addressing the challenges faced by the transport community
