Love Marriage: Woman, husband killed for 'honour' in Balochistan

On Wednesday, two brothers fatally shot their pregnant sister, Benazir, and her husband, Shoaib Khan, due to a seven-year-old dispute over their court marriage. The couple was traveling from Panjgur to Quetta with Shoaib’s brother and decided to stay overnight at a private hotel near Lakpass Nushki.

Early the next morning, the woman’s brothers contacted the couple under the pretense of meeting them and subsequently tracked their location. Upon arrival at the hotel, the armed men opened fire, killing both Benazir and her husband Shoaib.

The victims had reconciled with Benazir’s family a few months prior, raising hopes of resolving past tensions. Tragically, these hopes were cut short by this violent act. Levies personnel promptly arrived at the scene and transported the bodies to a local hospital.

Authorities have registered the case and have initiated a search operation to apprehend the accused, who fled after the attack.
