The loud noise of a deadly bomb shook the city of Turbat, renowned for its sublime views when a bus carrying passengers was targeted by the terrorist group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has led to the death of 4 people and several injured.

The local community of this area which is frequently neglected due to persistent conflict has been shaken by the incident that killed innocent people and is left wondering why its leaders remained silent. So-called Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) and its leader, Mahrang Baloch, who claims to be a human rights activist, why has she not spoken up on this matter?

Let’s uncover the primary missions of these terrorist organizations.

BLA and its associates are a big threat to the Baloch people and regional stability. By targeting innocent Baloch civilians BLA exposes its anti-people and illegitimate nature. It is often backed by foreign entities like India and anti-China forces who want to destabilize Pakistan and hinder its progress. Using the Turbat incident as an example, the screenshots below reveal how Indian media began disseminating propaganda and incorrect information as soon as the attack occurred, whilst in Pakistan, the news had not yet broken. All of this was a part of a carefully thought-out plot.

This foreign support is part of a bigger geopolitical game to sabotage CPEC and Balochistan’s development. These violent acts not only block infrastructure development like Gwadar Port but also harm the peaceful people of the region. BLA and its associates also spread baseless propaganda, distort facts to blame the state for their crimes and further fuel the unrest among the people.

By using young people who are already vulnerable and engaging them in extremist organizations, the group has increased instability in society. In addition to spreading misleading information, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has turned into a spokesperson for these terrorist acts, promoting violence and obstructing chances for harmony and progress. The worsening of the situation very clearly shows the enmity of BLA and its supporters against the development of Balochistan

It was also disclosed that Dr. Mahrang Baloch, founder of BYC, was present at the conference in Oslo, Norway, in November 2024, where she received a check for $1 million in return for her attendance. She purportedly spent a big part of this money, $2.5 million, brainwashing young Baloch. The noticeable thing is that, she is just a doctor without any strings of business interests attached to her and yet manages to raise such amounts to provide for large gatherings and provide transport. The source of this money, however, remains a mystery.

It happened several times when the oppression by these organizations became unbearable, and many people left. On December 20, 2023, Sarfaraz Bangulzai, leader of the Baloch Nationalist Army (BNA), also surrendered with 70 associates. Such a massive surrender proves how much oppression and coercion these organizations have inflicted on their members.

Talat Aziz, a former member of YLA has exposed the agenda of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). In a shocking exposure, Aziz said the meetings of the Baloch Unity Committee serve as the base where Baloch are groomed to go into combat camps outside.

“They convinced me to join a terrorist organization that kills innocent people, they promised me a ‘new life’ in the mountains, but the reality was quite different”. Aziz disclosed.

According to him when he questioned the BLA members about why they chose to live in the mountains, they told him that their struggle is with “Punjabis”. Additionally, they were planning to kill and target Punjabis and the only purpose was to mislead the Baloch nation and work against Pakistan.

The BLA’s acts serve as a stark reminder of the bloodshed and violence that have long plagued Balochistan. Leaving you with thought to reflect on: Is this truly a fight for freedom, where the lives of one’s community are taken in such violent attacks?
