Three people, including two members of the Hindu community, were tragically killed in targeted attacks in the Turbat and Buleda areas of Kech district on Monday. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for this rare act of violence against the non-Muslim community. It marks a departure from their usual focus on security forces and Chinese workers in the region.
According to police, armed men on motorcycles opened fire near a residential area close to the Star Plus market. Two Hindu community members died on the spot, while a third individual also lost their life in the assault. Turbat District Hospital received the victims. Hari Lal and Moti Lal tragically lost their lives, while injuries left Shero Mal hospitalized; he later died at the local hospital.

This attack has sparked nationwide concern as acts of violence specifically targeting minorities in Balochistan are extremely rare. Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti condemned the attack and called for urgent action to bring the perpetrators to justice. Law enforcement has launched an investigation to ensure accountability and address growing fears for minority safety in the region.
While insurgent violence is common in Balochistan, attacks on minority communities highlight the risks faced by vulnerable groups amid ongoing unrest.
