To strengthen the sector, the chief minister announced plans for a Balochistan Institutional Reforms Act, aimed at enhancing service delivery and administrative efficiency. He also directed the fast-tracking of 12 pending legislative drafts, with five already nearing completion.

Health Secretary Mujeebur Rehman Panizai reported notable recruitment efforts to address staffing shortages. The department has successfully hired 1,600 doctors, 1,600 paramedics, 60 faculty members, assistant professors, and senior registrars, with an additional 800 doctors set to join soon.

Efforts to eradicate polio were also highlighted. Collaboration with 8,000 private-sector individuals has significantly reduced polio cases, thanks to integrated and effective campaigns.

Additional initiatives discussed during the meeting included the establishment of a command and control system, facilitation centers, surveillance units, a data center, and network operations centers to modernize healthcare infrastructure further.

To ensure accountability, Bugti ordered the activation of the Health Sector Reforms Unit and called for the formulation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate departmental performance.

“No compromises will be made on the public’s interest,” Bugti stated firmly. “Those wishing to protest have the right to do so, but the welfare of our citizens remains our top priority.”
