Balochistan Health Department is cracking down on employees who haven’t updated their profiles on the province’s AI-based attendance system. In a recent directive, the department has ordered a 15-day salary deduction for any staff member whose photo and profile are missing from the portal.
This move comes after repeated warnings to hospital administrations, many of which have failed to upload the required staff data. The failure to comply has hindered the department’s efforts to monitor attendance digitally and improve accountability.
Hospital administrators are now responsible for implementing these salary deductions and must submit compliance reports promptly. All facilities have been given a five-day deadline to update their employee records. The department has also warned that any delays or negligence will lead to disciplinary action.
This initiative is part of a larger government effort to digitize public services, especially in the healthcare sector, which has long struggled with issues like absenteeism and poor oversight. Officials hope the new AI system will enable real-time monitoring of staff, particularly in rural areas, ensuring doctors and nurses are present during their shifts.
