
The University of Gwadar held its 9th Academic Council meeting at the Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute, chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir.
Key university officials, including Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ahmed and Registrar Dr. Dolat Khan, attended in person. Additional distinguished members, such as Mr. Jehanzaib from the Government of Balochistan and Dr. Fareeda Anjum from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, joined the meeting online.
After approving the minutes from the previous meeting, the council reviewed the implementation of past decisions and a report from the Quality Enhancement Cell on academic reforms.
The council made several key approvals during the session. These included renaming undergraduate degree programs, endorsing a new thesis format for BS programs, and amending semester regulations. A standardized enrollment numbering system will also be implemented. Furthermore, the council approved a new student fee structure for degrees and transcripts and ratified the proceedings for the Boards of Studies for the Education and Computer Science departments. Other matters discussed included allocating seats for FATA students and establishing an “Iqbal Corner” in the central library.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, remarked that the University of Gwadar is emerging as a center for academic excellence. He thanked the Higher Education Commission, the Government of Balochistan, and the university’s faculty and staff for their dedication, which has been crucial to the university’s progress. The meeting concluded with the Vice Chancellor presenting shields to the council members to recognize their contributions.
