Chairman of the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA), Noorul Haq Baloch, has extended an invitation to local investors to set up industrial units in the Gwadar Free Zone, offering land at concessional rates and a range of incentives.
During a meeting with members of the Gwadar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Mr. Baloch assured business leaders that plots in the Gwadar Free Zone would be allocated on a priority basis to those investing in the area’s economic development.
He highlighted that the government is offering a generous 23-year tax holiday, exemptions from customs duties, and access to modern infrastructure and world-class facilities to encourage investment in the port city.
The meeting also covered the ongoing development of Gwadar Port, including the expansion of its deep-sea terminal and improvements in cargo handling capabilities.
GCCI representatives urged the government to simplify investment procedures further and enhance the current package of incentives to attract more investors.
In addition, the GPA chairman visited several pumping stations and water storage facilities in Gwadar to inspect the city’s water supply system. He reviewed the processes of water transmission, availability, and storage.
Mr. Baloch announced that the long-awaited desalination plant, aimed at addressing Gwadar’s water needs, would be operational soon.
