Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has termed his participation in the Youth and Artificial Intelligence Summit at the United Nations Headquarters in New York a significant opportunity to showcase Pakistan’s technological potential and the capabilities of Balochistan’s youth on the global stage. Speaking after his return from the United States, Governor Mandokhail AI Summit engagements focused on artificial intelligence, youth empowerment, innovation and investment opportunities, while also highlighting the province’s growing role in the digital economy.
Speaking during a meeting with a delegation of minority community leaders led by former federal minister Khalil George, the governor reflected on his participation in the Youth and Artificial Intelligence Summit at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, describing it as a significant milestone for Pakistan and Balochistan.
Governor Mandokhail said that the summit brought together policymakers, technology experts, innovators, youth leaders and international delegates from around the world to discuss the future of artificial intelligence and its role in shaping economies, education systems and governance structures.
He noted that his address focused on the importance of equipping young people with modern technological skills, expanding access to digital education and ensuring that developing regions such as Balochistan are not left behind in the rapidly evolving AI-driven global economy.
“The world is entering a new technological era driven by artificial intelligence, innovation and digital transformation. It is essential that our youth are prepared to take advantage of emerging opportunities and become active contributors to the global knowledge economy,” he said.
The governor added that he used the international platform to highlight the talent, potential and aspirations of Balochistan’s youth while emphasizing the province’s growing interest in technology, innovation and digital development.
During his visit, Mandokhail also interacted with members of the Pakistani diaspora and business community in various US cities. He said these engagements helped strengthen connections with overseas Pakistanis and opened discussions on investment opportunities, entrepreneurship and economic cooperation.
According to the governor, overseas Pakistanis continue to play a vital role in supporting the national economy and promoting Pakistan’s image abroad. He appreciated their commitment to maintaining strong ties with their homeland and contributing to its development.
The governor said that artificial intelligence presents immense opportunities in sectors such as education, healthcare, governance, agriculture and public service delivery. He stressed the need for greater investment in technology, digital infrastructure and skill development to ensure that Pakistani youth can compete effectively in the global marketplace.
Members of the delegation congratulated Governor Mandokhail on representing Pakistan and Balochistan at the United Nations and praised his efforts to highlight the role of youth and technology in shaping the future.
