Four bodies have been recovered from the border area between Zhob and Musakhel districts in Balochistan, officials confirmed on Saturday. Preliminary information suggests that all four individuals were shot dead.
According to sources, reports of four bodies were received from the Zhob–Musakhel border region, prompting the district administration and rescue ambulances to rush to the site.
Rescue teams shifted the bodies to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Zhob for medico-legal formalities.
Officials said initial evidence indicates that the victims were killed by gunfire. However, the exact nature of the incident will be determined after investigations by police and relevant law enforcement agencies. Authorities have cordoned off the area and launched evidence collection.
This is not the first such incident in the district. In 2021, four bodies were also recovered from a cave in the Sarkach area on the outskirts of Zhob. Those bodies were severely mutilated and months old, making identification impossible.
Separately, just two days earlier, four bodies were found in Harnai district. The victims had also been shot dead. Using documents recovered from the bodies, three individuals were identified as 48-year-old Noor Muhammad son of Ali Murad, a resident of Kat Mandai Babar Kach area of Sibi; 40-year-old Juma Khan son of Kecho Khan, a resident of Harnai; and Muhammad Rasool.
The fourth body could not be identified as no identification documents were found.
According to Levies officials, all four individuals appeared to belong to the Marri Baloch tribe based on physical features. Authorities believe the incident may be the result of infighting within a banned militant organisation, though investigations are ongoing.
