Two employees of a private courier company were abducted after four armed terrorists belonging to Fitna ul Hindustan—the term used by the Government of Pakistan for the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA)—intercepted their delivery vehicle in Balochistan’s Mastung district, according to sources.
The incident occurred on July 24, 2026, when the terrorists stopped a Shahzore delivery vehicle (Registration No. LD-6523) belonging to a local courier and logistics company in the Khad Kucha area of Mastung.
According to local sources, the terrorists forcibly took control of the vehicle and abducted both employees before moving them towards Killi Anjeeri, where they are believed to be held captive.
The abducted workers have been identified as Jan Muhammad, a resident of Hazara Town, Quetta, and Sajjad Ali, a resident of Mominabad, Quetta.
Rs25 million ransom demanded
Sources said the terrorists contacted the owner of the courier company, Muhammad Imran, on the morning of July 26, two days after the kidnapping.
During the call, the terrorists of BLA demanded Rs25 million for the safe release of both workers and warned that the hostages would be killed if the ransom was not paid.
The abducted employees, along with the commercial delivery vehicle, remain in captivity.
Extortion and kidnappings by banned BLA
Security officials say the kidnapping reflects an expanding pattern of criminal activity allegedly carried out by Fitna ul Hindustan across Mastung and other parts of Balochistan.
According to officials, the group’s activities have increasingly extended beyond terrorist attacks to include kidnapping for ransom, extortion, vehicle snatching, bank robberies, and attacks on commercial transport, with such operations serving as a source of financing.
Officials believe the targeting of private businesses, transport companies, and commercial vehicles is intended to generate funds while creating fear among local communities and disrupting economic activity across the province.
Security operations intensified
Following the abduction, security agencies have launched a search operation to trace the terrorists and secure the safe recovery of the hostages.
Officials said intelligence-based operations have been intensified in Mastung district, particularly in and around Khad Kucha and Killi Anjeeri, to locate the abducted workers and bring those responsible to justice.
