Pakistan’s security forces have killed six terrorists belonging to the Indian-sponsored militant network known as “Fitna al Hindustan” during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The operation was conducted during the night between June 3 and June 4 after intelligence agencies identified the presence of terrorists linked to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), which Pakistan describes as an Indian proxy involved in terrorist activities across the province.
According to the military’s media wing, security forces launched a targeted operation against multiple terrorist hideouts in the area. Following an intense exchange of fire, six militants were killed.
The ISPR stated that sanitisation operations are continuing in the area to ensure the elimination of any remaining terrorists and to prevent future threats.
The military reaffirmed that the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign under the national security framework “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, will continue with full force to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for the successful operation, paying tribute to their professionalism and commitment.
“Security forces sent the Indian-backed terrorists, who were harming the lives and property of innocent and unarmed Pakistani citizens, to hell,” the prime minister said.
He reiterated the government’s resolve to eradicate terrorism and ensure lasting peace and stability throughout the country.
The latest operation comes days after security forces killed 17 terrorists belonging to Fitna al Hindustan in a series of intelligence-based operations conducted across Balochistan.
According to the ISPR, those operations were carried out in Mastung, Nushki, Zehri, Khuzdar and Kech districts following the train incident that took place on May 24.
During those actions, security forces targeted multiple terrorist locations, delivering a significant blow to militant networks operating in the province.
A large cache of weapons, ammunition, explosives and prepared improvised explosive devices (IEDs) was recovered from the militants killed during the operations. The ISPR said the terrorists had been actively involved in numerous acts of violence and terrorism in the region.
With the elimination of six more militants in Panjgur, the total number of Fitna al Hindustan terrorists killed in recent intelligence-based operations across Balochistan has risen to 23, highlighting an intensified security crackdown against militant groups operating in the province.
