
Field Marshal and Army Chief Syed Asim Munir stated that the state cannot bear the loss of precious lives and property from floods every year, while assuring complete cooperation in the resettlement and rehabilitation of flood victims.
According to the Pakistan Army’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir visited flood relief camps established in Kasur sector and Jalalpur Pirwala, Multan, where he reviewed the current flood situation and ongoing relief activities.
According to ISPR, the Chief Secretary of Punjab and other senior officials of the civil administration were also present with the Army Chief. The Army Chief was briefed about the ground situation and ongoing rescue and relief operations in flood-affected areas.
The public relations department stated that the Field Marshal emphasized that the state cannot bear the loss of precious lives and property every year. The Army Chief highlighted the importance of cooperation between civil and military institutions in solving the problems of flood victims and stressed the importance of good governance and public-friendly development while discussing with the civil administration.
Field Marshal Asim Munir said that all necessary measures required to protect the people from the devastation of recurring floods should be taken, and infrastructure development should be accelerated.
On this occasion, the Army Chief also reiterated the Pakistan Army’s unwavering commitment to support all measures taken for public welfare.
Army Chief Syed Asim Munir also met with flood victims who had been relocated to safe locations and assured them of complete cooperation in resettlement and rehabilitation.
The Field Marshal also met with military personnel engaged in relief operations, Rescue 1122 staff, and police officers, and appreciated their high morale, preparedness, and spirit of serving the nation in extremely difficult conditions.
