Security forces killed two assailants following attempted attack on FC post in Turbat

Security forces successfully neutralized two armed assailants on Friday night following an attempted attack on a Frontier Corps (FC) check post in Turbat, Balochistan, according to police reports.

Amid rising militant assaults, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, security forces have ramped up counterterrorism efforts. Kech SSP Zohaib Mohsin confirmed in a statement, “Unidentified armed men attempted to attack an FC check post last night. The forces retaliated, killing both attackers.” The assailants were intercepted, surrounded, and eliminated in Sangani Sar, with their bodies handed over to local authorities, though their identities remain unknown.

Balochistan saw further unrest, as a grenade attack in Nasirabad (40 kilometers from Turbat) left several women and children injured. Unidentified motorcyclists threw the grenade into a house, injuring Meeral Qasim, Ayesha Shabbir, Fatima Shabbir, and Shahzad Shabbir, as per police officer Zahoor Ahmed.

Additionally, four Levies personnel were martyred in an armed assault on a check post in the Nasl area of Khuzdar district late Friday night.

Earlier this week, a convoy carrying PPP MPA Ali Madad Jattak was struck by a blast in Quetta, resulting in one death and ten injuries; the lawmaker was unharmed. Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti later commented on the ongoing insurgency in the province, comparing its eventual demise to the Kurdish movement in Turkey and labeling it as an India-backed conflict with self-serving motives.
