An attempted attack on a Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan check post in the Killi Jahangir area of Kuchlak was successfully foiled by security forces, resulting in the killing of two terrorists belonging to the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
According to security sources, the attack occurred during the night between April 15 and 16, when heavily armed militants attempted to target the FC check post. Alert and vigilant personnel responded immediately, preventing any damage and neutralizing the threat.
In the ensuing exchange of fire, two terrorists were killed on the spot. Security forces also recovered weapons, hand grenades, and a significant cache of ammunition from the site.
Earlier Operation in Harnai: 12 Militants Killed
In a separate intelligence-based operation conducted on March 12 in the Harnai area, security forces eliminated 12 militants after receiving credible intelligence about their presence.
The forces cordoned off militant hideouts and carried out a precise operation, delivering a major setback to militant networks in the region.
Cross-Border Links of TTP Networks
Security officials state that militant elements of the banned TTP continue to operate with support from across the Afghan border. These groups often exploit border areas to plan and execute attacks targeting both security forces and civilians in Balochistan.
Earlier in April, security forces arrested a high-value terrorist, identified as Habibullah, who was involved in suicide attacks. Authorities confirmed that his brother is a commander of the banned TTP operating from Afghanistan.
Government Tightens Travel Regulations
Amid rising security concerns, the Government of Balochistan has imposed a ban on travel using “Tazkira,” making passports mandatory for international travel.
Officials have also raised concerns that militants linked to TTP have infiltrated Balochistan by posing as Afghan refugees and have been involved in terrorist activities.
Security Forces Vow Continued Operations
Security forces reiterated their commitment to eliminating terrorism, particularly threats with external backing. Officials emphasized that operations will continue across Balochistan to dismantle TTP networks and ensure long-term peace and stability.
