Special forces from Pakistan, Türkiye, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan participate in the Eternal Brotherhood-5 multinational exercise in Uzbekistan.

Special forces from Pakistan, Türkiye, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan participated in the multinational Eternal Brotherhood-5 military exercise held in Uzbekistan from September 13 to 25, 2026, with Kazakhstan taking part as an observer country.

The exercise brought together special forces personnel from the participating countries to strengthen cooperation, coordination and professional capabilities in dealing with modern security challenges.

During the multinational exercise, participating forces conducted activities focused on modern operational techniques, combat tactics and security-related challenges. The exercise also provided an opportunity for the participating forces to exchange operational experience and share professional practices.

Kazakhstan participated in the exercise as an observer, adding a regional dimension to the multinational military engagement.

The Eternal Brotherhood-5 exercise reflects the growing defence and security cooperation among the participating countries, particularly in the area of special forces coordination and professional military training.

Joint exercises of this nature also provide participating forces with opportunities to improve interoperability, strengthen communication and develop a better understanding of operational procedures used by partner forces.

The exercise further reflects efforts by the participating countries to deepen military-to-military contacts and build mutual confidence through practical cooperation.

The exercise of Eternal Brotherhood comes amid expanding defence and security engagement among countries in Central Asia and the wider region, where multinational exercises are increasingly being used to facilitate military coordination and the exchange of operational experience.
