Iran-Israel War: Power outage hits Makran as Iran halts electricity supply

The electricity supply from the 132kV Pishin-Mand and 132kV Polan-Jiwani transmission lines originating from neighboring Iran has been suspended, according to a statement from the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) spokesperson.

The suspension has severely impacted the power supply across all grid stations in the Makran Division, the spokesperson confirmed. The affected grid stations include Mand, Tump, Turbat, Hoshab, Panjgur, Jiwani, Gwadar Door, Gwadar Deep Sea Port, New Gwadar International Airport, Pasni, and Ormara—leaving the region without electricity.

Efforts are underway to address the crisis. The QESCO spokesperson assured that the Makran Division will soon be connected to the national grid as a measure to restore power. Meanwhile, QESCO officials are actively coordinating with Iranian authorities to expedite the restoration of electricity from the suspended supply lines.

The spokesperson expressed confidence that once the electricity supply from Iran is reinstated, normalcy will be restored across the affected regions. In the meantime, QESCO has issued an apology to consumers in the Makran Division for the inconvenience caused by the outage and has appealed for their patience and cooperation during this challenging time.
