Security forces killed seven Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in the Eidak area of North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security sources said on October 2.
The operation was conducted as part of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts under the Azm-e-Istehkam framework, with security forces targeting suspected hideouts and positions of Fitna al-Khawarij in the area.
According to security sources, security forces pursued the terrorit during the operation and carried out a decisive action against their positions. The engagement resulted in the killing of seven terrorists, while terrorist hideouts in the area were also destroyed.
Security sources said the operation demonstrated the forces’ continued focus on intelligence-led action against terrorist networks operating in North Waziristan. The targeted action was aimed at restricting the ability of terrorist elements to maintain hideouts and operate from the area.
The operation also involved follow-up efforts to search and clear the area after the engagement. Security personnel continued efforts to ensure terrorist positions had been cleared and that no additional terrorist elements remained in the vicinity.
North Waziristan has remained a major focus of Pakistan’s counter-terrorism operations, with security forces conducting intelligence-based operations against terrorist networks and their infrastructure. The latest action in Eidak comes amid continued security operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa aimed at disrupting terrorist activity.
Security sources said professional and coordinated operations have reduced the space available to terrorist elements to establish and maintain hideouts in the area. The forces have continued to rely on intelligence-based operations to identify terrorist positions and target them before they can be used for further attacks.
The latest operation is part of broader efforts under Azm-e-Istehkam, which Pakistan has described as a framework for strengthening counter-terrorism measures and addressing security threats. Security forces have repeatedly stated that the objective of such operations is to prevent terrorist attacks, dismantle terrorist infrastructure and support the establishment of sustainable peace.
Security forces, according to the sources, remain committed to continuing operations against Fitna al-Khawarij and other terrorist elements until terrorist infrastructure in the targeted areas is cleared.
