At least 21 people, including a tribal elder and his son, lost their lives in various incidents involving shootings, explosions, drownings, and traffic accidents across Balochistan during the Eid holidays, officials reported on Monday. These tragedies also left at least 13 others injured.
Tribal elder Muhammad Amin, a relative of senior minister Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, was killed in an IED attack while traveling to offer Eid prayers with his sons and relatives in the Zamran area of Kech district. The roadside IED, detonated via remote control, targeted their vehicle.

Muhammad Amin and his son, Naveed Amin, died instantly, while his younger son, Hafiz Irshad, and another man sustained injuries. PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari extended his condolences to the bereaved family, expressing solidarity and praying for the recovery of the injured.
Other violent incidents included the killing of former excise and taxation officer Hafiz Elahi Bakhsh in a gun attack while on his way to Eid prayers. Additionally, Ziaur Rehman Hashmi, the brother of a senior government officer, was killed in an attack in Nasirabad district. A seminary student, Riaz Ahmed, was shot dead in Noshki, and in Buleda, a man named Abdullah was killed following his abduction. An unidentified individual also sustained injuries in a shooting incident in Dera Bugti.
Traffic accidents claimed several lives and caused injuries during the holiday period. A car plunging into a ravine in Sherani district resulted in the deaths of four people, including a one-year-old child. Victims were identified as Abdul Rahim Sherani, his brother Anas Khan, and Saddam Khan Sherani. Near Lyari on the Makran Coastal Highway, one person was killed and three others injured in a crash.
Vehicle overturns in Dalbandin and Pasni led to fatalities and injuries, including nine individuals identified as Mahim, Saifullah, Sharabel, Abdul Hameed, Nowroz, Shafiq, Nizam, Tanveer, and Hamal. Other accidents in Dera Allahyar resulted in casualties following a motorcycle and car collision.
Drowning incidents during holiday picnics also led to loss of life. Two young girls died while bathing in the Nari Gaj River near Sibi, an 11-year-old boy drowned in Sohbatpur district, and three men drowned in separate incidents in Kohlu and Basima. Additionally, Ghulam Mustafa tragically fell to his death from a mountain while picnicking with friends in the Wadh area of Khuzdar district.
