Police vehicle in Balochistan after DSP Mastung goes missing near Surab
DSP Mastung Rafiq Hamza Mengal has gone missing near Surab.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mastung, Rafiq Hamza Mengal, has gone missing near Surab along with his official vehicle, officials said on Thursday.

Officer untraceable since Wednesday evening; incident follows recent recovery of abducted AC Tump

According to police, the DSP had left Hub for Mastung on Wednesday but contact with him was lost after he crossed Surab. His driver informed authorities that the officer could not be reached after 5:30 p.m. and has remained untraceable since then. Efforts are underway to locate him.

Deputy Commissioner Mastung Behram Saleem confirmed that there were reports of DSP Rafiq Hamza’s disappearance, and inquiries are underway.

The incident comes days after the recovery of Assistant Commissioner Tump, Muhammad Hanif Noorzai, who had been abducted four months ago. Noorzai was freed on September 18 and flown to Quetta on a special plane arranged by the Balochistan chief minister.

Such back-to-back incidents underscore the persistent security challenges faced by government officials in Balochistan.
